It's a good day for a flag

When I was a kid and a "flag holiday" came around, everybody in the neighborhood put a flag on their house.

These days, I notice that often, I am the only one.

Well, today is Veteran's Day. We give honor..and yes, our flags..to those that have fought for OUR COUNTRY. OUR way of life! Geez..it seems like raising a flag on our houses is LEAST we can do!

So this morning..after the sun goes up..I am gonna get on my step ladder and put my flag up high. Will anybody join me??

There is hopeful symbolism in the fact that flags do not wave in a vacuum.

Indeed it is. Never have been one to fly the flag myself but it does give me pause when I see a huge flag standing straight in the wind.

Yes....thanks to all our veterans, and some of my favorite:

My dad, granfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law and hubby are all ex-Army.

Dad was a lieutenant colonel who fought in Korea. So did my father-in-law. My grandpap was in WW I. My brother-in-law went to the Gulf War. My hubby is a Vietnam-era vet - didn't get sent there though - thank god.
