This is a little know out of the way restaurant that has outstanding food in thee most elegant setting. It's like walking into a dinning hall in Hearst Castle with its crystal chandeliers......wall tapestries and beautiful furniture

The food is a bit pricey but very good and the service in great.

Sounds great! It sounds like the old Travaglini's in Encino.

Where is this place located and about how pricy is it?

Its on Los Angeles Ave in Moorpark...right near a theatre and a shopping mall...Our meal was $50 for the two of us which was pretty average. So not real pricey.

That's still not too bad. What types of Italian dishes did they offer? I'm not sure I would spend $25.00 each for spaghetti and meatballs

Ok, cool. I love eggplant parmesan. I'm guessing Mr. B's lobster was why the total came to around $50.00 for you both? The eggplant usually runs around $12.00-$15.00, most places. Its one of my favorite dishes. Were these all ala carte or dinners?

Dinners......They came with wonderful bread you dipped in vinegar and oil and a salad.

I think I remember seeing that hotel. It looked pretty nice.

Are you guys going to take any day trips on Oahu, or just hang out at the beach?

By the way, there is a live video web cam in front of the Duke Kahanamoku statue on Waikiki Beach. http://www.co.honolulu.hi.us/cameras/waikiki_beach/
waikiki.htm

I've seen people get on their cell phones and call family back home while they stand in front of the statue. Its a kick!

Actually the food has been very good here. Fresh and without a lot of sauces...We eat our big meal out at lunch time and the buffet on the beach was fantastic yesterday...It was a "salad" bar but like Larry said...that included lots of pasta too.

We got a package through Orbitz which included the flight and room. When looking this place up it said it was old and not that nice which was just a lie...We are two or three "doors down" from the Sheraton so yes a nice area AND one of two on the beach.

Typically the big meal is lunch, usually called a "plate lunch" that consists of a main course with rice AND macaroni salad. Carbs, who cares about carbs?

Then we're right in step far as our big meal...not on the rice and pasta deal.

Funny thing happened today. I really enjoyed what I ordered yesterday at this one restaurant...which was a slice of toasted sour dough topped with sliced veggies...tomatoes..green pepper..red onion..zuccini and then grilled with a slab of jack cheese on top....Ordered the same today and it had grilled ONIONS on top and was greasy.
