Clementines in Carpenteria

We went to this steak house last night and it was TERRIFIC! Well worth the 65 mile afternoon drive along the beach....to visit friends in the campground there.

Never heard of it......Its at the far end of Carpenteria and a real find. Dinners run about $25 and between the six of us we tried the fresh fish (which is weighed and hand picked for the freshest and best)the fried shrimp which was excellent along with thee best FRESH carrots I have ever tasted...the liver and onions...they said were out of this world with an apple onion mix on top....the huge slab of prime rib couldnt have been any better.....each dinner came with a salad and soup which they gladly give you in a box after dinner if you want...and the baked potatoes were fried on the outside. NO ONE left the skin.

BEFORE we got a menu we were served 3 loaves of right out of the oven seasame seed bread and a huge plate of pickled veggies and they refilled it soon as it was empty.

But the clincher was that every meal on the menu includes a huge slice of fresh baked pie. They had like 10 to choose from and all of us took it "to go" because we were so stuffed.

If you are in the area try this place......

Gawd, my typing in that post!!!! Pretty bad.

This thread reminds me of a great Norm Crosby line: "What happens to sour cream? Does it go good?"
