Mojito!
6/4/06, 2:58pm
Mojitos are my FAVORITE summer drink. Yum.

I make my own simple syrup and steep crushed mint leaves from our garden in it.

Take 1 1/2 oz of the mint mixture. Add some rum (2 oz) and juice of a half-lime. Stir and add ice. Pour in half a can of club soda. For a twist, substitute ginger ale for the club soda.

It's 5:00 pm somewhere in the world, right?

Any other summer favorites I should know about?
Lori

I love any kind of fruit smoothie, except the yogurt ones. I like slushy drinks, non-alcoholic and otherwise.

Here is a summer fav..but it has to do with the ginger ale..and chicken!

This is easy. Take a can of ginger ale and empty it into a large freezer bag. Take about half as much of soy sauce and add it to the bag. Take your chicken pieces (I prefer thighs for this) and add it to the bag. Let that all sit overnight.

BBQ the next day, turning constantly! Serve with grilled pinapple slices and a nice cold mojito.

Let me know! I love to hear how someone uses one of my recipes and how it went.
