I was recently surprised to hear that BBlast was once a bartender. Well, I am trying my hand at being a "home bartender."

Here is a recipe for a popular drink that I would have on a rare occasion, but had no idea how to make.

Serves four. Put some ice in a shaker. Pour 12 oz of Bourbon (Maker's Mark is my fave) into the shaker. Then, 6 oz of sweet vermouth. Add 2-3 dashes of aromatic bitters (I didn't really know what this was... turns out to be a liquid "seasoning" made substantially of alcohol -- can also be used in your cooking -- and is found at your local supermarket).

Pour a few dashes of Marachino cherry juice... then shake.

Serve in martini glasses, and garnish with a marachino cherry.

It is wonderful...

I love your Manhattan, huh! It was really good. Next time, though, I want 2 cherries!
