Nice Dinner

So here we are, about to go into the restaurant that my son choose to go to for his 16th birthday with his grandparents, and who walks in with us? The Reeds!!

Marie, of course, looked great! And Rob has lost some weight! Unfortunatly, because we were a "group", so we sat at a table while the Reeds enjoyed the sushi bar and Danny's company.

And the food was, as always, great! We had some dinner specials that my parents liked, and I had a spicy tuna salad and a Danny roll...plenty to get full from, I assure you!

But I am not so sure about the wrapping the Reeds had on their rolls..it looked sorta like paper..in fact, if you looked closely, you could see the writing on the back side..something about a Cable Bill.....

Happy Bday to your son (didn't know that) -- it was Marie's bday, as well... and it was nice seeing you, and meeting your parents.

I knew we would run into each other there eventually.

That soy paper wrap roll is the Koko... and, notwithstanding your Japanese friend's advice to not mix wasabe and soy, the Koko roll is the absolute perfect mechanism to take advantage of the wonderful flavors that the soy-wasabe concoction brings.

That's why we call it the "burn" roll. Not your prototypical "sushi," but it is absolutely delicious. Even Murphy would like it, I think. Avocado, cucumber, imitation crab, tomago (sweet egg), wrapped in soy paper (tasteless).

Dip in the wasabe-soy... yum!

It was soundin pretty good til you got to that "mystery sweet egg" stuff. Im afraid to ask what that is.

When I typed it, I thought you might get disturbed by that. Actually, it looks like a small, solid piece of scrambled egg... like if you took a scrambled egg mixture (before cooking it in a pan), and cooked it in a small, rectangular mold.

The result tastes a bit sweet, so I imagine that they throw a little bit of sugar in there.

I am sure it is GREAT: DELICIOUS: SUPER YUMMY...

but it sounds sorta bland...

My Dad tried a Heart Attack (sushi roll) that night and he loved it! (Now THAT is a roll!!)

Just to add to what Rob wrote, it is just a japanese omlete. Personally, I think it is not all that tasty..needs salt or something.

Ain't it just like a good attorney NOT to answer the question.
