North Slope of Alaska Part II (Alaska TR) Musk Oxen

This is a group of Musk Oxen grazing near a buried portion of the Alaska Pipeline.
This next photo depicts the little ones taking a protective posture behind one of the larger ones. They will run behind the big one and place their flanks together with their horns protruding out to protect each other's flanks.

Two more photos. This is a picturesque bluff along the Sag River on the North Slope. It is the only object that seems to break the flat rolling tundra landscape.
