>That's ok, I made the mistake today of posting a question >about the FDNY on a site, but I made the mistake of writing >NYFD, and I got blasted for it by some fire fighter in >Rhode >Island. Sheesh! > >So, what is the FDNY? > >I have always made the anacronym to be Fire Department New >York > >That's it. I collect the scale model fire engines that Code-3 sells. http://www.code3.net/fire/ These really have some amazing detail. Anyway, they just released a FDNY ladder truck that has steer horns on the front top of the cab. So, because there are a lot of FDNY firefighters on the Discussion Board on Code-3's site, I asked if someone could fill me in as to why the horns. I had heard it was some long time tradition at that particular fire station. I didn't get an answer back yet, just a snide response from one guy saying, "Its FDNY" As I said I accidently wrote NYFD in my question post. -------------------------------------------------------- " I lift up mine eyes to the hills, whence cometh my help.", Psalm 121 --------------------------------------------------------
