I'm back
9/15/06, 8:02pm
I don't remember if I even mentioned I was going away, but I'm back now. I spent the week on the Central California coast. My home base was in Carmel, but I spent plenty of time in San Anselmo at my friend's restaurant, Sebastopol to look for (and find) Charles Schultz's grave, Monterey, Big Sur, Pfeiffer State Beach, the sea lions just north of San Simeon and Montana State Park. I also planned to spend some time in San Francisco at the Golden Gate Bridge, Presidio, Palace of Fine Arts and Fisherman's Wharf, but when I got there on Wednesday, it was so foggy I couldn't even see the GG Bridge from the vista point at the north end of the bridge! After Ashley and I walked halfway across the bridge and back, we just continued on to San Anselmo instead...

Welcome back! It sounds like you went on an adventure. Do you have any pictures to share?

I took 642 pictures over the four days, most of those in just the last two days because the weather was so terrible the first two. It'll take me a while to get through them all, but I'll let you know when they're ready.

Funny story from yesterday...

I stopped at the sea lion viewing deck just north of San Simeon on my way home. The sea lions weren't cooperating. Instead of being in front of the deck where they usually are, they were a few hundred feet south. So, the few visitors who were trying to see them were all bunched up at the southern end of the deck, as close as we could get.

I was standing there clicking away, trying to get a usable shot, when in my right ear I hear a female voice say, "Well... Hello there!"

I turn away from the camera, look to my right and see the most gorgeous dark haired young woman in skin tight white denim shorts. She flashed me a beautiful smile, nodded down toward Ashley who was between us, and said, "She was licking my leg."

Oh, it must be nice to be a dog! I sure wish I could get away with that without being arrested... LOL

Hmmm... Ashley seems to know your "taste". LOL! Yes, pun intended.

I have to agree that it's great to be a dog.

You, of course, took photos of this gal, right? I am waiting for those photos to be posted here.

Yes, apparently she has very good taste (assuming this woman tasted good, that is... )

Unfortunately, no. I had the 100-400 lens on my camera and she was standing right next to me. Much too close for a long range lens like that...

And, besides, I didn't even think of it.
