I finally got the pictures from last week's trip online. You can find them here: http://www.ldphotography.net/Travel/20060912-15/

Great pictures, as usual. I really enjoy them.

One thing in Monterey 001: "Since it was so foggy in San Francisco the day before, I skipped the usual tourist stuff, like Fisherman's Wharf. On this day, I decided to head a little north to see the Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey." Ahhh....Monterey is SOUTH of SF. Good thing you have a GPS Just kidding!

By the way, what a neat looking hotel at Carmel. Great price too.

Thanks again for sharing these.

Two different days, though. I had returned to Carmel in the meantime. I just added the word "again" to that last sentence to make it clearer...

It was a very nice motel (except for the phone issue). I think I got lucky with that price, though. I booked it through travelweb.com. It was the only motel in that area that quoted a price under $100/night.

When I was looking around for ideas on where to go, I found that one with a price of $42/night. A few days later I made up my mind that's where I was going to head, so I went back to make my reservations and this time the site quoted $49/night. I hurried up and booked it before it went up any more.

The next day I got curious to see if it had changed again, so I went back. This time it wasn't even listed for those days. I figured it was probably sold out and not available, so I redid my search, using the dates for the same days in the next week. That search had the motel in the results again, this time at $99/night.

I would think that any motel or hotel in Carmel or Monterey for under $100 would be hard tto find. And that one looks like a nice place too.

I figured that's what you meant since the previous pictures were from the beach near Monterey
