Adjusting your DPI

For us older folks (ahem)that need glasses.....My monitor went south and this new one has a much higher resolution which caused all the fonts and icons to be so small I could hardly see them.

I changed the font to "larger" and did everything I knew how but still they were very small. And then I read about changing the DPI configuration.

Go to your Control Panel.....Display...Settings....Advanced...General and up the DPI setting. BINGO.......I can actually see whats on my monitor now!

Fortunately, so far, it is only my farsighted vision that has gone south. I still prefer the smaller type screens.

On my notebook, the settings are perfect. I have a widescreen and extremely clear type. A few weeks ago, I decided to do some maintenance on the 4 year old desktop that my teens have taken over. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to make it readable, as the kids changed settings to fit more on the screen and I had no clue (at the time) what they did to the thing. Turns out they had changed the display settings to the largest numbers and that fit the most onto the screen, but oh, was the text tiny. So tiny that nothing I did helped. Everything was about a font size 6, and slightly blurry! Yikes. Since then, the kids have compromised and now use an intermediate setting so the screen is readable by others.

Control Panel
Display
Settings
Screen Resolution..... it's this last one that can be tweaked for best appearance based on your monitor.

Hi Zhakee......My problem was my new monitor was set at the highest resolution...for clarity but the print was still very small. Resetting the DPI did the trick......
