>I have a linksys router... while using ZA, it still tracks

>firewall off?I am not an expert on firewalls, but I DO know what I have read. First off, there are LOTS of reports that ZA does not work well with hardware (a la Linksys) firewalls. Some people have better luck than others..for me, ZA caused all sorts of probs and seeing as how I checked my firewall and it came out fine anyway, I don't worry about it. Second, a firewall is not a piece of plastic that keeps everything out..something has to come through else there would be no connection. The "hits" that you are seeing could be coming from your http port or even an open ftp port.
Bottom line is, you should always check your firewall. I use GRC.com.
Also, according to everything I have read, a hardware firewall..even a crappy one, is better than a software firewall. This is because of things like CPU lag and vulnerabilities that make it a bit more "pourus" than a hardware model.
