IE going south......

Suddenly every time I try to use any search engine my entire IE browser hangs up my computer. I can't even get out of it with alt, control, delete. My only option is to turn off the power. Any suggestion BESIDES GOING TO OPERA.

Everything else in IE seems to work fine.

Hmmm, sounds like one of those nasty search engine things that comes with some popups may have got you. I would run Ad-Aware or Spy-Bot, which ever you have and see if it finds anything. Just a guess, but its possible.

Yeah... Get Mozilla Firefox.

Seriously, you might try running Microsoft's update to bring your copy of IE up to the current version. The patches and updates might fix your problem in the process. Other than that, I really don't know.

Larry was right on target. I ran SpyBot and it picked up spyware from "mysearch.com" and said it was a search tool bar in IE that had been embedded there. SpyBot removed it and Im cookin again.

Thanks oh so much Larry...Amazing with all the spyware, firewall, goodies I've got on here that got by everything.

Great. I am glad that is all it was. I hate those damn things that do that. That happened to me here at work. IE wouldn't crash, but it would load this toolbar I never asked for each time and if I tried to search, it would default to their search engine. Grrrrrrrrr

Right now, I'm having a heck of a time transferring all our stuff over to the new Dell puter. I can't seem to export the addressbook and I don't know what to do with the folders Janice created in Outlook. This isn't the new computer's fault, we love it!
