A.J.'s synapses...

They are EN FUEGO (on fire)!

He is picking up stuff everyday it seems... it is so amazing to watch. He does "beautiful eyes" now... when you say "beautiful eyes" he squints (Grandma Nora gets all the credit for this one, though).

But the funny one today is he is starting to recognize his hands. Marie and I do an "open" and "closed" hand demonstration with him often, and he now is starting to create a connection.

So, tonight, as we are doing "open" and "closed" hands, A.J. looks at me (while in Mommy's lap), and he has his outer hand facing me... and up comes his middle finger only during his "open" hand attempt. For about three seconds before any other finger came out.

No camera, unfortunately, was on him at the time... but that one will stick in my memory for a long while. I suspect. Mommy and I were on the floor in tears, needless to say, with A.J. trying to figure out why.

AJ did it to me while I was changing his diaper this morning. He was looking at his right hand, and then I said, "Closed... open... closed... open..." His little hand started to open and close slowly, and then the famous middle finger went up so innocently. LOL! It's such a treat to wake-up to him in the morning.

This is GREAT news. I thought he was giving me some kind of message.

I imagine A.J. will be doing this shortly as he is starting to develop the habit of copying his mommy! DOH!
