And by the way, there’s a birthmother who wants to meet you…
3/6/06, 8:08pm
I call our adoption counselor, Sheryl, on the week anniversary of submitting our profile. She says it looks great, as do all the other ones from the couples in our adoption class.

“And by the way, there’s a birthmother due in three weeks who is interested in your profile,” Sheryl casually says, as my heart starts to leap out of my chest. “It’s a bit of a sketchy situation.” The heart leap turns into a heart drop.

Seems the birthfather is not sold on the adoption idea. But for various reasons, he’s not in a position to argue. So there may be a problem and there may be none at all.

Do we want to meet Crystal? YES! We set up an appointment for the upcoming Sunday.

OMG.

OMG is right! The nerves, anxiety, all the questions that run through your mind, the uncertainty of how well the meeting will go well... the endless worry! "What if she's doesn't like us? What if we don't her? What if she changes her mind? What if...?" Endless!!
