Yesterday, I called our social worker for an update and to tell her about the YouTube video. We have not been seen since our last mention last July by any birth parents.

According to our social worker, the birth mothers coming in recently are requesting Hispanic only or White only parents.

When I heard this, I found it ironic that Marie and I had experienced a lot of negative feelings about ourselves because of our decision to limit our first adoption by race.

I wonder what this decision is like on the other side of the coin... on the side of the birth parent? I imagine it is exactly the same, but I would like to hear from any birth mothers/fathers out there who made a similar decision.

WOW ... that is really ironic. We were told less than a week ago that we were too limited, and that was because the 2 main races we picked were white and hispanic ... ironic indeed.

I can't wait to see what the YouTube video will bring to this journey! We're praying for you guys and THANKS so much for this blog, and for your friendship.

Hello Rob and Marie,

I am mother of Paul Codling and I personally know a couple from my church that had one child of their own and have since adopted two additional children (a brother and a sister) within a year of each other from South America. I am sure they would give me their attorney contact info.

I also know that Lutheran Social Services offers adoption services as well - and are successful.

I can be contacted at newelca@hughes.net or cell phone which I will provide via email request. -Helen

It truly is ironic, isn't it?

As for the YouTube video, you already know what's been going. My mind has been pretty foggy since the Dave Clark interview.
