Message #961 of 1287  *NEW* To From Subject Date All AdoptBlog.com   The Race Card Returns 10/17/06, 2:17pm Yesterday, I called our social worker for an update and to tell her about the YouTube video. We have not been seen since our last mention last July by any birth parents. According to our social worker, the birth mothers coming in recently are requesting Hispanic only or White only parents. When I heard this, I found it ironic that Marie and I had experienced a lot of negative feelings about ourselves because of our decision to limit our first adoption by race. I wonder what this decision is like on the other side of the coin... on the side of the birth parent? We were told less than a week ago that we were too limited, and that was because the 2 main races we picked were white and hispanic ... ironic indeed. I am sure they would give me their attorney contact info. I also know that Lutheran Social Services offers adoption services as well - and are successful.
