Beautiful!!!

I've only seen two bald eagles in the wild and both were during a tour of the Kennedy Space Center. The bus drove by their rookery.

The pictures made me feel movement. I've learned a new word today...Rookery. Thanx I love to learn something new every day if possible.

I hope that's the right word. I think it means nest for some types of birds. I hope so anyway

Rookery
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
A sea lion rookery at Monterey, CaliforniaA rookery is a colony of breeding animals.

The term is most commonly applied to the nesting place of birds, such as the crow and rook, a bird similar to the crow, but smaller. The term is also used to describe the breeding grounds of the penguin and seabirds in general.

A rookery may also be a place where marine mammals such as the seal, sea lion, and walrus breed, give birth, and nurse their young, such as a beach or similar location.

A turtle rookery is typically a beach where the adult female nests and buries her eggs.

You are correct, and it stands for other things as well, prompted me to consult the dictionary.

Remember the card game called "Rook" with the big black bird (crow) on the package?

I saw several on a P.I. mission on Lake Sinclair several years back. From my vantage point I was not sure what they were until I put the huge telephoto lense on. I took some video from 200 to 1000 yard ranges, but have since misplaced the tape.
