I feel your pain.

We spend even more filling up Janice's Explorer.

I love my car. I filled the tank yesterday. It cost me $39, and that was only because I let it get way below a quarter of a tank. I usually fill up when it's somewhere between a quarter and a half. And, she runs great on regular, so I can put the cheapest crap I can find in her tank...

The ridiculous thing, as I was saying to Marie today, is that prices in the past have gotten hire AFTER this date (as summer progresses)... so, will I be paying $5 for gas within the next 8 weeks?

I'm thinking yes.

And, I can't friggin believe it.

Is this a hybrid, Lon? I forget what kind of car you have... but, I have to tell yoiu, if you are only paying $39 to fill your tank, it sounds like you are driving a lawnmower.

That's the best part! She isn't a hybrid. LOL

Ellen is a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier LS. The manual transmission makes a huge difference in the mileage.

I've actually driven another non-hybrid car that got even better mileage, though. Back in 2004 I rented a Toyota Corolla that got 45mpg by my calculations. And, that car had an automatic transmission...

Of course, Ellen did recently cost me a big chunk o' change for other reasons. A couple months ago she spent a week in the shop because the valve guides for cylinder #2 stopped working. When all was said and done, that week set me back $2,800. Ouch!

That is awesome... except for the $2800... I mean that was a new SLR camera or lens or something.

Well, I did buy a new SLR also.

And a new computer, too. http://tinyurl.com/49h82c

That's the same with my Mazda 3. Nice isn't it!

I'd say we'll be paying $5.00 long before that. I'm guessing around the 4th of July.
