The ridiculous thing, as I was saying to Marie today, is that prices in the past have gotten hire AFTER this date (as summer progresses)... so, will I be paying $5 for gas within the next 8 weeks? LOL Ellen is a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier LS. The manual transmission makes a huge difference in the mileage. I've actually driven another non-hybrid car that got even better mileage, though. Back in 2004 I rented a Toyota Corolla that got 45mpg by my calculations. And, that car had an automatic transmission... Of course, Ellen did recently cost me a big chunk o' change for other reasons. A couple months ago she spent a week in the shop because the valve guides for cylinder #2 stopped working. When all was said and done, that week set me back $2,800.
