I took some time yesterday and I found this insect busy with some fresh caught prey. The insect I believe is called a Steel Blue Cricket Hunter. I originally would have thought it to be a dirt dauber. The Steel Blue Cricket Hunter had bagged a grasshopper and was busy dragging it away. After some time she abandoned her prey and moved maybe six feet away and began digging a hole. Apparently the Steel Blue Cricket Hunter will bury its prey in the hole and lay a single egg in the hole with the prey. The egg should mature as an adult next summer. I thought the whole episode was pretty cool. -------------------------------------------------------- Friends are the best collectibles --------------------------------------------------------
