Bummer!

I just read that this coming season of Deadwood...season 3...will be the last, according to HBO.

In other TV news, June 12th starts Hell's Kitchen. Chef Gordan Ramsey is great in this thing and it really captures my attention. It is a reality show that chefs compete in. To me, more entertainling that Top Chef and Ramsey is a riot!

And on June 21st they will the showing of all the possible past Big Brother people that we get to vote on to see if they will go in the house, this July.

Re Deadwood: Yep, they've even torn down the sets out at Melodyland Studios. Therer is a letter writing campaign underway, but it probably won't do much good. HBO has to cut their budget. The guy who plays Dan Dority, (W. Earl Brown) has been very vocal about this. He has been a long time member of the Deadwood Discussion Board on hbo.com

I thought it had already been running longer than three seasons.

I finally got around to watching those first two episodes a while ago. I liked it. I can see myself watching the rest, but I don't want to pay so much to buy the box sets. I'll have to see if I can find a local rental store that has them.

They probably do.

Sort of a shame but then..."always leave em wanting more" is a credo in the entertainment world...

Just tell me one thing: Swearengen dies a slow, agonizing, horrible death at some point in the series. Man, I hated that asshole in the two episodes I've seen...

That doesn't apply to TV...How many shows have "jumped the shark" long ago but are still on the air?

Which, in my mind, is what makes the acting so great on that show! You totally forget the actor and focus on the character.

Great casting and better writing!

I don't know if you can call HBO, "TV". I mean..the production qualities of Deadwood are certainly far beyond Everybody Loves Raymond. And, seeing as how HBO doesn't have commercials for support...

"It's not TV, its HBO" Isn't that their slogan?

You're absolutely right.

Ian McShane rocks! He and Robin Weigert (Calamity Jane) are my favorite characters on there.

The latest rumor, according to the L.A. Times, is that HBO and David Milch (The show's creator) have agreed to do two two hour finales to help wrap things up. However, I've also heard that HBO ordered all the sets destroyed at Melodyland Studios, so who knows.

Season 3 starts tomorrow night!!!
