My only complaint is that it was too long! Great talent by Phoenix and little Reese Witherspoon. She proves that she can handle a difficult, not so cutesy role for a change. The main characters really did their own singing. Not great, but not bad really for non-singers. Johnny Cash was truly screwed up boy. Amazing what sells these days. Worth singing if you enjoy that sorta music and the "Bad" Cash. Love story sorta... Though I watched Ray again last night and I think that's a better biopic. Jamie Fox was simply amazing. Interesting side bar...I read a story on Rosanne Cash today in the L.A. Times. She is Johnny Cash's first child during the marriage to his first wife. She is not very happy with the way her mom was depicted in the film. Frankly, I thought she reacted about the way anyone would if faced with an unfaithful spouse. Rosanne has a new CD out, the first she has releaseed for many years and it includes all new songs she has written.
