Volver stars Penelope Cruz, and it was written and directed by Pedro Almodovar (well-known for his previous film "All About My Mother," which I would also recommend).

The story is about the death of Penelope's estranged parents in a fire within the small village in which they lived. However, it is soon discovered that there are reports of Penelope's mother appearing in the village.

It is a very good, albeit predictable, story, and the acting is very good. It is also subtitled, so if you don't like those kind of things, you won't like this film.

The score is excellent and the direction is excellent, and I think Penelope's acting really shines in this film.

Rented from Blockbuster. 7/10.
