Log Jam Central

Dear fellow Baseball Geeks...

...I know I'm new to the whole fantasy baseball thing, but is it as unusual as it appears to have the log jam between 2nd and 8th like there is in the league today? (5.18.05...just hours till Episode III)

After playing 27 games, 2nd and 8th separated by just 2 games. I know it's a long season and the group will eventually thin, I was just wondering if this is normal? Perhaps it speaks well about the strength and balance in the league...

I'm out...

Dear Lord Vader,

I hope you are enjoying your first season in BBM. I am predicting a three game slide for the Roid Rage over the next three games. I think things may bunch up again after that. I think the league is well balanced and I enjoy the competition. Wait till after 162 games a playoff position is decided by 1/2 game. Glad you are with us. Welcome again to BBM

Sincerly,
George P SteinBooga.

P.S. May the force be at second.

Ya know. Win some, lose some........

It is a pretty darn competitive league. Our league last season was rated the second toughest in the nation throughout all the BBM - AU leagues that existed. I have a feeling we will be atleast in the Top 5 or 10 again by season's end if not higher. I know Rob & all the members in his family that's in our league has been in it a long time, probably some 10 years or more each I'm guessing. Boogaman has been in it 5,6,or 7 years now. Mel has been in it about as long as Robert. This is my 3rd year. Vicki has been around quiet a while in it now. She's probably been in it some 9 or 10 years now, I'm guessing. You & Larry's first season. You 2 are looking pretty darn competitive. It appears you 2 have picked up on it already pretty damn good.

Yes here is my BBM history.... I was dating this guy who said do you want to play this with me, and I of course wanted my own team and somehow we hooked up with all the Reeds. There were more than there are now! I think I made it to the playoffs that year, of course I wanted to beat him and other than that it didn't matter. I think we played again the next year, and then I played by myself after I gave him the boot, and I met my husband that year and it's history since. I have "known"
(e-known?) the Reed family since about 1996 or 97.

Of course you see experience has meant nothing since my team sucks....AGAIN.

And here's mine.....When I got my first computer a friend set it all up for me and gave me the phone number of a BBS called The Cracker Barrel. Dave Allen was a real character and kept mentioning this teenager he helped with his first computer. His name was ROB REED.
He was 16 or 17 I believe.

Long time and through lots of changes..........

Thank you so much for that post, I.E. (THE ONE BELOW THIS ONE).,(still have trouble doing this)-------- it made my heart "Swell", for I know Robbie is such a "Wonderful fellow", a "one of a kind", and I am SO PROUD that I helped influence him.
I was a Computer Neophite, and he and Chris, also Jason, changed that around 1995 , this lead to my "Baseball Fanatisism"", I signed up for "Fantasy Baseball"., prior to that time I only knew "Soccer Football".

I still am a "Computer Neophyte", however I do my best to follow Baseball, and Hope to WIN., am in two Fantasy leagues, ONE is for the Money, the one talked about here is "Strictly for fun".

As a result of this involvement, we NOW have met Two very GOOD MEN , (and Very unique )Individuals, Dr. Rub., and BOogaman
