I was thinking of a couple of quotes from some of my softball playing friends that struck funny bones.

Sam Barnes yelling to a stubborn, overly aggressive batter...

"Be selective, swing at the first one."

Ben Still discussing the importance of drawing a walk.

"I'm telling you that walks are important....I'm telling 90% of the times that you walk you are going to get on base."

What he was trying to say is that 90% of the time you walk, you are going to score.

"Be selective, swing at the first one!" LOL! Loved that one.

It reminded me of some of the lines in the movie "Naked Gun"

"Doctors say that he's only got about a 50% chance of living, though there is only about a 50% chance of that."

"It's 4th & 20, with 2 outs & your looking at a full court press."
