proper use of the 'F' word
2/26/08, 9:33pm
Correct use of the "F" word There are only eleven times in history where the "F" word has
been considered acceptable for use.

They are as follows:

11. "What the @#$% do you mean,
we are sinking?"

-- Capt. E.J. Smith of RMS Titanic, 1912

10. "What the @#$% was that?"

-- Mayor Of Hiroshima, 1945

9. "Where did all those @#$%ing Indians come from?"

-- Cus ter, 1877

8. "Any @#$%ing idiot
could understand that."

-- Einstein, 1938

7. "It does so @#$%ing look like her!"

-- Picasso, 1926

6. "How the @#$%
did you work that out?"

-- Pythagoras, 126 BC

5. "You want WHAT
on the @#$%ing ceiling?"

-- Michelangelo, 1566

4. "Where the @#$% are we?"

-- Amelia Earhart, 1937

3. "Scattered @#$%ing showers,
my ass!"

-- Noah, 4314 BC

2. "Aw c'mon. Who the @#$% is going to find out?"

-- Bill Clinton, 1998

and a drum roll please............!

1. "Geez, I didn't think

they'd get this

@%#*^ing mad."

-- Saddam Hussein, 2003

I think that maybe a little profanity might be justified in those circumstances.

It's a documentary, but I think it is available at Blockbuster.

My friend, Christine was one of the writers.

Cool! I didn't know Netflix had it as well.

I need to rent it. I feel bad that here one of our closest friends (Christine is a fellow bone marrow transplant survivor with Janice) helped create this film and we haven't seen it.

I just went back to the NetFlix web site to make sure it wasn't one of those "not yet available on DVD, but we'll put you on the waiting list" kinda titles. But, according to the latest status on my queue, they've already shipped it! That was fast!

Speaking of the "not yet available on DVD" list... Why the everloving heck has The African Queen still not been released on DVD?!? I added that movie to my NetFlix queue months ago, and it's still sitting there waiting for a release date. I waited years for Desk Set to finally be released on DVD. This one is taking a ridiculously long time!

African Queen is a great film. I've watched it several times, most recently a week or two ago on TCM. The special efefcts are pretty lame by today's standards, but Bogart and Hepburn's performances are amazing.

Plet me know how you like Christine's film. We were hoping for an Academy nomination, but I guess if the documentary wasn't about the Iraq War, they weren't interested this year.

Will do. I got it in the mail today, and will probably watch it tonight at work, as long as things don't get too busy.

Well, I got most of the way through it before the computer here at work started having fits and stopped playing it. These DVD drives are pretty flaky and the tiniest scratch or speck of dirt makes them bitch and complain. I'll watch the last ten or 15 minutes of it on my DVD player at home.

It's pretty interesting, though. I like what I've seen so far. I'm just curious why you're crediting it to Christine. The Netflix DVD sleeve and imdb.com say the film was made by Steve Anderson.

Yes, Steve Anderson was te main force behind it and Christine was one of the key crew members and helped write it. Unfortunately, she had a relapse of her leukemia and was in treatment during the time when she would have been able to attend all the screenings and publicity, etc., when the film was released. Do a search on IMDB for Christine Perchera and that will give you more information. She's an amazing person.

I'll have to check out the film. I'm sorry to say I haven't seen it yet.
